Finishing up some WIPs

I suppose it should actually be WsIP, no? Anyway, I've vowed to myself (and to our budget) that I would finish up some crafty works-in-progress BEFORE I buy any more yarn or fabric. A noble goal. Well, this weekend, I finished this autumn garland for the mantle. I really like it. It could be a little more lush, but that was all the energy I had to put into it. A Facebook friend of mine commented on one of my photos, "It looks like Pinterest threw up all over your mantle." *nose snort* Yes, yes it does.

Simply Amazing

I can't believe how well this girl can play! This is Soni and her teacher during her Book 4 recital. She just blew us all away with her focus, skill, dedication, and musicality. Simply amazing.

How did it happen that I have a teenager? It happened just like that I tell you.

There's my tiny little babe on the day I brought her home. Still blinking and squinting at me. Are you my mother? Sure am, little one.

There's me, exhausted and overwhelmed, and so very, very much in love. I love my Sonja-girl. I love her so.

Worth It

I spent maybe an hour the other day turning these apples into applesauce, which was devoured by all of us by lunchtime the next day. Totally worth it.

I love this time of year, when the sun is coming up just as we are getting up and ready for the day. What an inspirational way to wake up!

This State. I Tell You What...

I've had to work the last three weekends, but I can hardly complain when it's in places like this. The last two weekends - Kleffner Ranch near Helena and BBar Ranch near Yellowstone. This weekend - beautiful Flathead Lake. Heaven. Home.
