Cousins are the Best

There's something about the love of a cousin. For these girls, it is just the same no matter how much time has passed. They played charades on the lawn, produced several plays and commiserated about the perils of being a twin (i.e., people asking, "Do you have special powers?")

The Start of Summer

Today actually feels like summer, and I'm just loving it. We've got neighbor kids visiting, the sun is shining and there's a cup of coffee by my side here on the patio. *contented sigh*

Abundantly Blessed

We enjoyed this amazing double rainbow last evening. The photo doesn't come close to doing it justice &ndash it was the most spectacular rainbow I've ever seen. What a treat it was to share it with Eric and our girls. I'm feeling abundantly blessed these days. Nothing like an all-consuming, constantly-stressful political campaign to make you appreciate the joys of everyday life.

When he sat down, I'm sure he wasn't planning on three kids piling on top of him. But of course they did. He patiently sat while they snuggled in.

Celebrating Ben

Well, I lost the election and have resumed my "normal" life. I was very disappointed by the loss, but the good news is that we're looking ahead to a fun summer and I now have the time to do things like "put stuff away" and "do the dishes" and "blog." So that's the bright side.

One normal thing we did, right after the election, was attend my nephew Ben's graduation from high school in Moscow, Idaho. Ben is a super cool kid with an incredibly bright future. Eric and I feel honored to have been able to have been a part of his growing up, and we're inspired by the wonderful job my brother and his wife have done in raising this amazing young man.

We had fun in Moscow, hanging out with four generations of Waldens and Hildings. It was great to reconnect with my family after the intensity of the campaign. They were all very proud of my effort which made me feel good.

So, now I'll be dipping my toes back into the crafting world and the gardening world and the baking world and the cooking world. And the blogging world! See you here again soon.

My Beauties at Easter

We had a nice Easter Holiday with Eric's parents. Lots of relaxation, lots of hopping around, lots of fun.
